Diwali Discounts boost up sales in October

Due to the festive season of Diwali in the month of October, there was a major lift in sales for most of the automobile companies. For Indians, Dhanteras and Diwali were the biggest buying festivals were over on 17th in the month of October. In this season most of the car and motor bike vendors offered hefty discounts till the month end to cheer up the sales and thereby clear the stocks.

Maruti Suzuki India notified 21% growth in domestic sales at 71,551 units (59,127 units). Hyundai motor India noted 41.4% increase in the domestic market at 28,301 units (20,009 units). Tata Motors’ Passenger vehicles business posted domestic sales of 22,232 units (20,011 Tata + 2,221 Fiat vehicles), a 28% increase compared to 17,378 units (17,014 Tata + 364Fiat vehicles) last October. Sales of Tata cars, at 17,557 units, grew by 25% over last October.
